Agra: In a significant diplomatic event, the President of Maldives, Dr. Mohammed Muizzu, and First Lady Sajida Mohammed will be arriving in Agra tomorrow, 8 October 2024. Representing the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, the state’s Higher Education Minister, Yogendra Upadhyay, will personally welcome the esteemed guests upon their arrival at the Air Force Station in Agra.
The Maldives President’s visit to the historic city is scheduled to begin in the morning. After being formally received by Minister Upadhyay, Dr. Muizzu will proceed to Shilpgram, situated near the world-renowned Taj Mahal. From there, the President and the First Lady will embark on a special visit to the Taj Mahal, one of the most iconic symbols of India’s rich heritage and architectural marvels.
As a representative of the Chief Minister, Yogendra Upadhyay will take the opportunity to familiarize the Maldives President with the culture and heritage of Uttar Pradesh. He will share insights into the state’s rich historical significance, which includes the legacy of the Taj Mahal, and how Uttar Pradesh stands as a symbol of India’s diverse cultural heritage.
At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Mohammed Muizzu and the First Lady will depart from the Air Force Station in Agra. Minister Upadhyay will also be present for the official send-off.
Commenting on the visit, Yogendra Upadhyay described the occasion as a historic moment, stating that it would further strengthen the already strong and friendly relations between India and the Maldives. He emphasized the importance of such exchanges in fostering diplomatic ties and cultural understanding between the two nations.
